Eating Disorders/Body Image

Our approach is focused on addressing eating disorder and disordered eating concerns through a holistic and collaborative method. Our relationships with food and our bodies are intricate and deeply personal, and our therapists are committed to working with you to explore and understand your experiences, ultimately guiding you towards a more fulfilling life based on your individual needs and desires.

Our practice is rooted in the principles of Health at Every Size ® and Intuitive Eating, with the goal of supporting individuals in developing a positive relationship with food and learning to trust their inherent body wisdom.

Our practice offers Family Based Treatment (Maudsley Method), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic-Based Approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other eclectic therapies to address disordered eating and body image concerns.

Trauma

Understanding the lasting impact of traumas in our lives is crucial. These experiences can disrupt our perception of the world, hinder our ability to relate to others, and affect our daily functioning.

It's important to recognize that intellectual and emotional processing take place in different parts of the brain. Even if you comprehend that everything is fine logically, it might not align with how you actually feel. In our sessions, we will employ modalities that bridge the gap between your intellectual understanding and emotional experience. By desensitizing intrusive memories and fostering a reconnection with your body, we can facilitate the processing of past traumas and initiate the healing journey.

Our practice offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Inner Child Work, and other somatic based therapies when exploring traumatic experiences.

LGBTQ+ Affirming Care

Affirmative therapy goes beyond simply accepting LGBTQ+ identities. It celebrates and supports non-mainstream relationships and identities, acknowledging the harm caused by societal norms. Practitioners work to dismantle oppression at all levels, including institutional and internalized.

As an LGBTQ+ person, you may be coming to therapy for issues related to your experiences with having diverse identities, such as shame, stigma, or discrimination. Or you might be coming to therapy for reasons that are not directly related to your LGBTQIA+ identity, but want to make sure your therapist is safe, open, and knowledgeable about LGBTQIA+ people and their unique needs and experiences. In session, our therapists explore with you what is important to your therapeutic process, and work alongside you to reach your goals.

Borderline Personality Disorder

If you are dealing with BPD, you may experience challenges in managing emotions, coping with distress, sustaining relationships, and establishing a consistent sense of identity.

In session, our therapists utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches to support you in addressing the symptoms of BPD. Together, we will explore your concerns in a compassionate and curious manner, aiming to gain a better understanding of your emotions, foster a stronger self-connection, release feelings of shame, and develop the ability to navigate life's uncertainties.

Our practice offers Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and  Internal Family Systems when working with BPD.
